Aether appearance
Aether produces tall, slender mushrooms that can reach around 15-18 cm in height under good fresh air exchange conditions. When CO₂ levels are higher, fruits may stretch even longer. The stems are thin, pale white to cream colored, and often slightly curved. Caps usually open earlier than many thicker cubensis varieties and remain relatively modest in size, averaging 2–4 cm across.
Young caps begin pale white to creamy-yellow, then develop darker centers as they mature. Blue bruising often appears on the cap surface and stem with handling or age, giving mature fruits a striking blue-green center. Eventually the mushroom caps might turn completely blue-green.
In addition to the above, the gills darken as spores mature, and the spore print is purple-brown to nearly purple-black.
Aether growth characteristics
Aether is valued as an easy and rewarding strain to cultivate. It is known for:
- Fast colonization
- Rapid pinning and fruiting
- Multiple, dense flushes of tall fruits
- Easy harvesting thanks to long stems and open structure
- Reliable performance in a range of growing conditions
Because the fruits are slender rather than thick and dense, total harvest weight may be slightly lower compared with chunkier varieties.
Potency
User testing with the Miraculix Psilocybin QTest has measured Aether at approximately 1.5–1.8% psilocybin by dry weight. As with all mushrooms, potency can vary depending on substrate, harvest timing, and growing conditions.
What makes Aether unique?
Aether stands out for its graceful tall stems, early-opening caps, dark bruised centers, fast growth cycle, and attractive canopy structure. It is an excellent choice for growers looking for a visually unique cubensis strain with strong overall performance.

Safety precautions and handling
When handling the Aether liquid culture syringe, it is crucial to follow proper safety precautions to avoid contamination and ensure a successful growth process. Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind:
- Always handle the syringe in a clean and sterile environment.
- Wear powder-free nitrile gloves and a face mask to prevent contamination.
- Minimize airflow in your workplace.
- Avoid touching the needle or the liquid culture directly to maintain sterility.
- Store the syringe in a refrigerator at 3-5°C to prolong its shelf life. Use the syringe within 2 months after reception.
