Albino A+ (AA+) Magic Mushrooms: Origins and Genetics
The Albino A+ (AA+) is a unique leucistic Psilocybe cubensis strain believed to have originated from the classic A+ variety. This latter strain is said to have been developed by the mysterious Shroomery user ‘Mister G’. The same breeder who also created the B+ strain. As the story goes, a pale A+ mushroom was used as a base for the Albino A+. This ultimately led to the Albino A+ having its characteristic appearance.
Unlike actual albino mushrooms, Albino A+ mushrooms exhibit partial loss of pigment. This usually results in white to cream-colored magic mushrooms. The magic mushrooms often bruise blue during growth and when handled during and after harvest. The strain produces dark purple to brown spores and forms robust rhizomorphic mycelium on various substrates.
Light exposure affects the final result. Higher light levels produce more pigmented, yellowish caps, while lower light results in whiter magic mushrooms. With large caps and subtle blue bruising, Albino A+ is a visually striking and versatile strain.
Acid Shroomz Albino A+ Liquid Culture Development
The development of our Albino A+ liquid culture began with a carefully selected Albino A+ spore print. We used this print to inoculate several agar plates with spores. Once the spores germinated, we transferred sections of healthy fungal colonies to a brown rice and coco coir substrate to let the mycelium bear fruit. After the mycelium produced mushrooms, we cloned a promising specimen onto an agar culture medium.
We further isolated the strain through multiple agar transfers, resulting in a stable pure culture. This pure culture was then subjected to a thorough, final test and now serves as the basis for all of our Albino A+ liquid culture syringes.
Our Albino A+ strain is known for its aggressive growth, rapid substrate colonization, and resistance to contamination. It is a good choice for both novice and experienced growers because it is easy to grow and delivers reliable performance. The potency is generally average but can vary depending on the substrate and growing conditions.
Product Contents

Safety Precautions and Handling
When handling the Albino A+ liquid culture syringe, it is crucial to follow proper safety precautions to avoid contamination and ensure a successful growth process. Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind:
- Always handle the syringe in a clean and sterile environment.
- Wear powder-free nitrile gloves and a face mask to prevent contamination.
- Make sure there is little to no airflow in your workplace.
- Avoid touching the needle or the liquid culture directly to maintain sterility.
- Store the syringe in a refrigerator at 4-7°C to prolong its shelf life.
Optional Accessories
Consider using a flow hood or still air box (SAB) for added sterility during the inoculation of substrates.
