Description
Our Dimple Cap spore syringe contains 10 ml of spore solution with visible clouds of viable Psilocybe cubensis spores. Each syringe is prepared under sterile conditions and guaranteed free from contamination.
Unlike an isolated liquid culture, a spore syringe contains a broad genetic pool. As a result, it makes an excellent starting point for growers who want to explore Dimple Cap genetics, select their own cultures, or simply enjoy the natural variation that can occur between different phenotypes.
Dimple Cap appearance
Dimple Cap is a distinctive Psilocybe cubensis variety named after the shallow depression that can develop in the center of some mature caps. Younger caps typically have a more conventional raised center, while some lose this central umbo as they mature and develop the characteristic dimple instead.
The caps range from pale brown to yellowish brown and typically develop from cylindrical to conical shapes. Meanwhile, the stems are yellowish and mostly solid. Additionally, handling or damaging the tissue can cause blue bruising.
Because the central indentation does not necessarily appear in every fruit, individual cultures and phenotypes can vary in how strongly they express the characteristic Dimple Cap appearance.
Dimple Cap growth characteristics
Dimple Cap combines its unusual appearance with several useful growth characteristics. In particular, fast colonization, good resistance to contamination, and tolerance for higher CO₂ levels have been observed with this strain.
Its higher CO₂ tolerance distinguishes Dimple Cap from varieties that require particularly low CO₂ levels to develop well. Combined with its B+ family background, these characteristics make it an adaptable P. cubensis variety to explore.
Because this syringe contains a multispore population rather than an isolated culture, individual cultures can still differ in their growth and fruit development. This variation gives growers the opportunity to select phenotypes that express particularly desirable characteristics.
What makes Dimple Cap unique?
Dimple Cap is an early-2000s Psilocybe cubensis strain from the B+ family. Although its exact origin is unknown, its lineage and distinctive morphology separate it from conventional B+ genetics.
Its most recognizable characteristic is the shallow central depression that can appear as the cap matures, giving Dimple Cap its name. However, its combination of fast colonization, contamination resistance, and higher CO₂ tolerance also contributes to its distinctive character.
For growers starting from spores, Dimple Cap offers an opportunity to explore this older B+ family genetic line while selecting from the natural variation of a multispore culture.

Safety precautions and handling
When handling the Dimple Cap spore syringe, it is crucial to follow proper safety precautions to avoid contamination and ensure a successful growth process. Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind:
- Always handle the syringe in a clean and sterile environment.
- Wear powder-free nitrile gloves and a face mask to prevent contamination.
- Minimize airflow in your workplace.
- Avoid touching the needle or the spore solution directly to maintain sterility.
- Store the syringe in a refrigerator at 3-5°C to prolong its shelf life. Use the syringe within 3 months after reception.
