Our Monotub Starter Kit is designed to make growing magic mushrooms in a monotub as straightforward as possible. It brings together everything you need for your grow: a reusable monotub, fresh grain spawn, and prepared CVG substrate.
The grain spawn and CVG substrate are prepared fresh to order, with production typically taking 1–2 weeks. Once everything is ready, the complete kit is shipped together so you can get started upon arrival.
Best of all, the monotub can be used again for future grows. After your first grow, simply reuse it with our Monotub Refill Kit, which provides fresh grain spawn and CVG substrate without the need to purchase another tub.
✅ Monotub with sponge filters: A reusable growing container designed to provide a suitable environment for colonization and fruiting. The ventilation holes allow passive gas exchange, while the supplied sponge filters help protect the inside of the tub from the surrounding environment.
✅ 3 L fully colonized millet grain spawn: Fresh millet grain spawn, inoculated and prepared to order. We ship the grain only after it has fully colonized.
✅ 5 L premium CVG bulk substrate: A carefully prepared and pasteurized blend of coco coir, vermiculite, and agricultural gypsum, designed to provide excellent moisture retention and support healthy mycelial growth.
The 3 liters of grain spawn and 5 liters of CVG provide a high 1:1.67 spawn-to-bulk ratio, promoting fast colonization and reliable fruiting.

Setting up the Monotub Starter Kit is straightforward. Start by breaking up the colonized grain spawn and thoroughly disinfecting the supplied monotub. Add approximately four-fifths of the CVG substrate to the tub, followed by all of the grain spawn.
Mix the grain spawn and substrate thoroughly, making sure the colonized grain is evenly distributed throughout the substrate. Finish by spreading the remaining CVG evenly across the surface as a thin top layer. Lightly mist the surface, then close the tub using the supplied sponge filters.

Under suitable growing conditions, the Monotub Starter Kit can produce a total yield of approximately 1,000–2,000 grams of fresh magic mushrooms over multiple flushes. Actual yields can vary depending on the selected strain, growing conditions, and cultivation experience.
